SCATTERGUN (Southern Rock/Country/Rock) — 1/31/2009 from 09:30 PM – 21+FREE COVER!
Continuing to map the territory claimed by the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, as well as more traditional pioneers such as Bill Monroe, Scattergun puts the hot burn of a whiskey shot back into country rock.
The music of Scattergun gives a nod to the building blocks of country’s namesake and tradition, as well as more modern topics such as low rise jeans, and the need to fight corporate interests to save our small towns, and bi-partisan politics.
Their style definitely lands towards the rock end of country rock, which they have termed “biker country”.
At times serious, other times tongue in cheek, Scattergun makes no apologies for enjoying themselves.
DEADWOOD REVIVAL (Americana/Folk/Bluegrass)1/30/2009 from 09:30 PM – Free
The foot stompin’ tunes of Deadwood Revival will kick into high gear with their return to The Red Bicycle Bistro on Vashon Island, Friday, Jan 30th. This award winning hillbilly jam-grass band with Kim Trenerry, Jason Mogi, Ches Ferguson, and Julie Campbell have an undeniable musical connection as they dish up banjo pickin’, harmony singin’, spirit liftin’ new roots music. The show will start at 9:30pm and there is NO cover charge. “We had a blast when we played here last summer!” Trenerry said.
